Cold Lake First Nations Chief and Council together with community Elders and Golconda President, David Orr, perform a blessing around a sacred fire on the site of the first well to be drilled by the joint venture, March 20, 2013. Chief Cecil Janvier said “ This is a great day for Cold Lake First Nation, a day that we will remember for generations as we forge the path to self determination with our partners.”

The founders and major shareholders have been involved in the history and development of Golconda Resources for over two decades. Historically the company was involved in mineral exploration across North America and the world.

This experience has led the company to the realization that some of the greatest opportunities are found in our own backyard here in Alberta. We have developed a number of strong relationships with Western Canadian First Nations.

The management and directors have a long term relationship with Cold Lake First Nations and this relationship has resulted in the formation of a partnership. Through our partnership we will combine strengths to provide a mutually beneficial and viable business.  We now have a lease on approximately 1600 acres on the Cold Lake First Nations lands for a ten well working program over the next three years.
