Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar, the mastermind behind the murder of Punjab singer Siddhu Musicwala, has been arrested in California.
Musiwala was shot dead in his village in Mansa district of Punjab on May 29. The attackers fired up to 30 rounds. Brar, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, claimed responsibility for the murder. sAtunderjeet Singh Alias Brar from Mukhtasar. He had gone to Canada on a student visa in 2017.
The US police arrested California’s biggest gangster for about a week, The Tribune has reliably learned from various sources.
The Indian government is fully aware of Brar’s arrest in California.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Man has confirmed Goldie Brar’s arrest in the US. He confirmed this while speaking to the Gujarat media.
The government is involved in secret talks to assess Brar’s status in the United States, as he may have sought asylum.
Gurpatwant Banu, the leader of the banned terrorist group “Sikhs for Justice”, is also in the United States.
Punjab Police issued two surveillance operations on Goldie Brar. The first was in the case of Saidu Musiwala, while the second was earlier this month for the murder of Pardeep Singh, a follower of Dera Sacha Soda, who is also charged in the sacrilege case.
Banu was associated with Goldie Brar and killed Seydhu Muswala when his alleged audio recordings of his phone which was trying to shelter some of the shooters in the Muswala case in Ambala surfaced.
Balkur Singh, father of the late singer, on Thursday announced a ‘reward’ of Rs 2 crore from his own pocket for anyone who ‘turns Goldie Brar’ to the police.
“Whoever hands over Goldi Brar, I will give him 2 million rupees from my own pocket. He is the real killer of my son,” Balkor Singh said at a performance in Amritsar.
He also criticized the state government, asking why it was “determined to kill the youth of Punjab”. He questioned the government for alleged laxity in taking action against gang members.
