Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are being asked to leave their home in the UK.
A spokesperson for the couple’s Archwell Foundation told People magazine: “We can confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been asked to vacate their home at Frogmore Cottage.”
The statement follows a report from before the sun King Charles III is planning to move his brother, Prince Andrew, to the Windsor residence. The second son of Queen Elizabeth, who has stepped down from his public duties over his ties to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, is currently residing at the larger Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.
The couple moved to Meghan’s home state of California in 2020 after retiring from the royal family.

A statement from the couple’s office said of the announcement: “Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Highnesses, and they are grateful to have their official residence on the estate. They married in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018, where their engagement photographs were taken.”
Major renovations had to be made to the property. As part of their plans to gain financial independence after stepping back from royal roles, Harry has “covered” the cost of renovating Frogmore Cottage, which is believed to be around $3 million. The costs were originally paid for by a Sovereign Grant, the British-funded taxpayer’s fund for the royal family.
After Harry and Meghan moved to California, his cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank moved into Frogmore Cottage ahead of their son’s arrival in August, February 2021. Relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family remained tense after the publication of Prince Harry’s memoirs in January. Meghan opened up about her new home in Montecito in a 2022 interview with mowingSay, “We did everything we could to get this house.”
